Jocelyn Fujarte, Research Assistant

Jocelyn Fujarte is a junior at CSUN, fascinated by how the mind works she is currently working toward earning a B.A. in Psychology. She is a member of the Committee of Psychological Sciences (CAPS) and the Multicultural Psychological Association (MPA). She has also been a member of the CSUN esports club and has been published in La Ceiba: The Undergraduate Journal of Central American & Transborder Studies. She is interested in pursuing a PhD in Clinical Psychology, specializing in Neuropsychology, in hopes of achieving her goal of becoming a clinical neuropsychologist who works with those who suffer from various mental health concerns. As a first-generation Latina who comes from a Mexican American background, her research interests include a focus on the Hispanic community, who often go unseen when it comes to neuropsychological disorders like dementia and Alzheimer's disease. She is additionally interested in the relationship between the brain and behavior, seeking to learn more about what the various neuropsychological measures and tests reveal about cognitive health and other psychological disorders that especially stem from anxiety. She enjoys volunteering for the EOP/ TRIO program and has made it her lifetime goal to be a voice for those who do not have mental health resources. Her hobbies include photography, reading, writing, and drawing.
